Today marks the beginning of Holy Week. The day that Jesus rode into the city on a colt where crowds of people shouted Hosanna! Hosanna in the highest!
They called Him King. They threw palm branches down for the colt to walk on as others waved them in the air. They believed He was the Messiah.
While they shouted praises to the King with their mouths, their hearts were about to be turned away.
In a few days they would begin to shout crucify! Crucify him! Give us Barabbas!
A day marked with joy and sorrow.
When we reflect on Palm Sunday and Holy Week, may we stop to remember that even then, our Savior knew He was going to die.
May we reflect on our own sins this week that were shouting crucify.
May our hearts be purged and purified this week before a Holy King.
May we remember what Jesus did for you and me.
I hope you take time over the next several days to sit with Jesus and listen to His heart. Mourn where you need to mourn. Grieve where you need to grieve. Shout where you need to shout. Praise where you need to praise.
Allow the healing to come and wash over you like rivers of living water. Allow His peace to sweep over you like a wave crashing on the shore.
And allow His love to knock you off your feet and fill you to overflow.
