Live the Vow
“Live the Vow”…These three very profound words were spoke to me on a very healing and profound trip I took a couple of weeks ago and I have been meditating on what it means to do just that…”Live the Vow”.
So what does it really mean to “Live the Vow”? What is the “Vow”? For many people the “Vow” can be that which they take with their beloved on their wedding day at the altar as they make an exchange of their truest deepest love for one another. For some it can be a negative impact on their life, a symbolic expression of a promise to never do something again due to traumatic events or a deep wound they have experienced.
What I learned on my trip, from a Kingdom Leader, a beautiful warrior that God has transformed into a teacher with a heart for women, as well as God leading me during my time of meditation, was that to “Live the Vow” meant chasing after the Heart of God. It means following the Father when all others follow the world. It means living a life unashamed of the gospel. Being true to the woman God created in His image and letting His light shine so bright that no one can ever question whose you are!
So what does it take to “Live the Vow”?
For me, it takes courage. The courage of a warrior going into battle not knowing the outcome. It takes heart. The heart of a woman, that while there may be scars, they aren’t always visible. It takes strength. The strength of the Father that is supernatural that can only come from prayer and the Armor of God being put on daily. It takes selflessness. The laying down of one’s self every day, even if mistakes are made, because to die to oneself is to gain far greater than one could ever imagine. It takes love. A reckless love beyond anything that is comprehensible. It takes compassion. Compassion that comes from giving to others without expectations as well as serving with the hands and feet of Jesus. It takes perseverance. To keep fighting on the days you feel like giving up because quitting is never an option.
To “Live the Vow” is fierce, reckless, undeniably the greatest vow one could ever live by!
