Some of us need to hear you spit out the lyrics of your pain
Then tell us how Jesus came to save
A broken person just like you
So for us it can be true.
You see from the trap to the prison
Most of us have been livin’
So when it came down to cleanin’ up our life
Everyone met us with strife.
We weren’t good enough for the church pews
Let alone the aisles
People tryin’ to be polite with their fake smiles.
Then one day a pastor opened his doors
He met a prostitute at the altar
Her shame she proudly bore
She was tired, she was done, she wanted some of
What the pastor had just spit out his mouth.
The Savior of Man who died a criminal’s death
The One who shed his blood so she could be free
From the condemnation she held in her chest.
Right there at the altar she gave it all up
Done with the sin
She was finally fed up.
That’s what started it
Just as simple as that
She went out and brought more people
Now look where we’re all at!
No longer afraid to walk in a church
To lay down our burdens, unclutch our hurts.
If it wasn’t for one pastor opening his doors
There may not be the freedom we all now proudly claim FOR-EVER-MORE!
Thanks for believing in the ONE TRUE SAVIOR JESUS and taking chances on us!
