I was driving to work and I noticed that the powder lines were supported with beams made out wood. Interestingly enough I had never made attention to their shape…A Cross. How is that I pass the same cross shaped supports every day and I never “pay attention”. I go day after day on the same route and never once stop to think that the same thing that supports our source of power, held our Savior. Our true source of power.
I began to think about all the people in the world who pass the same wooden crosses and probably don’t give them a second glance. They just go about their day to day activities, never investing thought into the Savior who hung on the old trees offering support and power for their lives.
Support is defined as “to bear all or part of the weight“. Power is defined as “the capacity or ability to direct or influence the behavior of others or the course of events.“
How interesting that when we combine those two we can certainly see how our Savior exemplifies our support and power. All throughout scripture He shows us His power and support. 2 Corinthians 12:9 “But He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is perfected in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly in my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest on me.” That alone says it all! His power makes me strong in the moments I feel weak!
Wouldn’t it be great if during this time we lived like Christ alone was our support and we spread that message to the world?
