Trauma…Deconstructing to be Reconstructed.

Trauma is brutal and has consequences that change a person at a cellular level.  It isn’t something that we ask for or wake up one day and pray for.  It hurts. It doesn’t make sense.  People don’t understand.  But it happens because we have an adversary that is set to steal, kill, and destroy us.

Sometimes people walk through their trauma unscathed by the adverse consequences and live as much a normal life as possible (they bury the trauma or pretend it didn’t exist).

Some people walk through their trauma and come out smelling and looking like every bit of what they have been through. Yet they still won’t go through the healing process.

Then there are those who come out of their trauma with visible wounds.  Their scars are still forming.  They know the healing process is hard but it is something they are willing to walk through.  The process is literally a deconstruction of who one used to be and a reconstruction of who one is becoming.

Imagine a child getting a Lego kit that has the capability to create multiple different creations.  The child opens the box and dumps all the Legos out in the floor and looks at the first instruction book.  The Legos in the floor is the pain, trauma, memories, tears,  victim hood, and process of the first phases of healing.  The booklet is the compilation of trauma therapy, the Word of God, and those the Lord brings into one’s path to deliver Words of Knowledge, Revelation, and Wisdom including prophetic words.

Imagine the child builds the first set and doesn’t and decides that they want to try the harder set next.  So they deconstruct the first one and begin to build the second one.  The second one is harder with more instructions. The process starts over but with more intensity because it is needed to go deeper into the core of who a person is when reconstructing.

This takes place over and over again until the last phase of reconstruction is complete.  Each time something is broken off, redesigned, transformed, and made whole.  Because again,  trauma was brutal.  It takes reconnection to it to understand it.

Don’t discount your process because there are those who think that trauma doesn’t need recognition.  You have to go through and not around it. The Lord will heal your trauma as long as you allow Him too. He promises to never us or forsake us, and that includes during our processes of healing. Isaiah 58:8 says this: ” Then your light will break forth like the dawn, and your healing will quickly appear; then your righteousness will go before you, and the glory of the Lord will be your rear guard.” Your light will shine as you go through this process, but you have to go through it. The Lord’s word never fails and it never falters. It goes before us and paves the way so that we have a pathway to see our way through all that we go through, including our trauma.

So go through your process and ask the Lord to give you a lens of Grace as you do. While trauma is brutal, the Lord is full of LOVE, GRACE, and MERCY. Healing is within your grasp and there is nothing that the Lord cannot heal, but go through – not around!
