ROOTED RENEGADE

I hoped on the shuttle bus to be taken to my car from the airport late last night (close to midnight) and the driver was a joyful precious woman.  I was the only one who hopped on so she went ahead and took me to my car.  I couldn’t tell how old she was, but it is not that it matters much.  I could describe her but that would be an injustice because outward appearances never tell the whole story.

She was kind.  I asked her how her day was and she was sharing with excitement.   She had just started 3 weeks ago and already had her route down pat.  I praised God and just told her how good I thought He was and whew!  😅 She started praising him too.  We talked about Him for a few and about how He is always good and chatted about hope and encouragement and how He is always on time and never late.  

I asked for her name and she said Shannon and when I introduced myself she told me she had another woman earlier whose name was Glorious Hope. 😉🙌🏽

It was as if in that moment I knew.  I knew something many would overlook.  I asked her how I could pray for her and her reply was simple yet profound:  Praise God.  Just praise Him. 🙌🏽🎶🎵

So that is what I did.  And I knew deep within me I was having a profound encounter. She dropped me off and both of us were still praising God. And as I got settled in my car, before I left the parking lot, I heard the familiar whisper…”that was an angel”😇.

You see no matter where we go throughout our day.  No matter where we travel 🧳.  No matter what routine we have or errand we run.  God is always looking for us to be ready to encounter the supernatural through our day to day.  

Unfortunately many are busy focused on themselves and what they have going on and how much time they have to do it, they miss these precious encounters with the divine.  They miss an opportunity to be a blessing and without expectation.  I had nothing I wanted in return from this precious being.  I was in no hurry.  I could have stayed and talked a lot longer.  And I was so at peace.  

Angels are sent on divine missions for God’s people.  They are ministering spirits (Hebrews 1:14).  And we typically entertain them unaware (Hebrews 13:2).

I share this to encourage you to slow down.  Ask God for divine encounters.  Get rid of selfish behaviors.  Ask God to show you how He sees people (because if you can only focus on what you want and need and don’t stop to see those who are right in front of you, you will entertain an angel unaware and greatly miss a most blessed encounter).  Chances are you already have.  Ponder that for a moment and ask the Holy Spirit to show you how you acted and what you said.  And when you get the answer, be willing to receive it (and repent if you need to 😉).

Love others more than you love yourself, your schedule, your agenda, your viewpoints, your perspective’s, your theology and ideologies, your possessions, your status, your title, etc.  

Jesus loved us so much He left heaven so we could be free! And He is coming soon!
