ROOTED RENEGADE

When I was younger (in middle school), I was able to look at something and draw it. I absolutely loved art and wanted to grow up to be a professional artist. It was a passion of mine and one that I tried my best to pursue.

Unfortunately, the enemy used people in my life to speak death over this ability. My drawings were destroyed by my step mom and I was told I would never make money at art or anything else in my life. That I would amount to nothing and was nothing.

For many years, I wouldn’t pick up a pencil and draw. I believed these lies and at one point even believed that my life would amount to nothing like she said. I buried this ability for a very long time.

When the Lord prompted me to start drawing again, I was hesitant to tap into this ability. It wasn’t that it went away, because the gift was from the Lord. It was that I had buried its potential under the weight of lies. And the Lord was trying to get me to see that this gift was to be used to honor and glorify Him. And that what other people said wasn’t the truth. 

Sometimes we have to undo the lies of others, especially when it comes to the gifts, skills, and abilities the Lord has given us. People will speak out of jealousy and envy towards us and in doing us, often try to curse what God has blessed. But walk with the Lord long enough and He will reveal that those curses carry no weight compared to His truth.

The truth is that what the Lord gives us, is blessed. He gives perfect gifts to His children and whether we bury them in the sand, or multiply them, is up to us.

We can combat the lies of those who try to curse us by speaking the truth over ourselves. Reading the Word over us to wash away everything that is not of God. Speaking prophetically over ourselves according to the will of God. Speaking out declarations over ourselves that align with His truth. These are powerful ways to combat lies.

So where do you need to align with truth today?

What do you need to speak with boldness over yourself today?

Is there forgiveness you need to offer to someone who has spoken death and lies over your life?

What passages of Scripture can you use today to help you tap back into what God has given you and be free?

God is good and nothing He will ever give you is bad. He will provide all you need to accomplish His will. Regardless of what the enemy tries to get you to believe. 

One Scripture you can use today is Isaiah 54:17. No weapon formed against you will prosper because you belong to the Lord!! 

Speak it over yourself and write it on the tablet of your heart.

Speak it over your family, children, situations, etc.

Recall it to mind whenever you need a reminder that what God has given you will be used to accomplish His will.

And remember that you are deeply loved by Father God and He can help you overcome the lies of others so you can walk in complete freedom.
